“Kindness is doing what you can, where you are, with what you have.”
After purchasing a new bag to my daughter, we left the shopping center and stumbled upon a talented musician playing his instrument. We stopped to listen for a minute and were captivated by his beautiful music. Beside him was a sign explaining that he was raising two children. I asked my daughter if she would like to donate some money, but she declined because she felt uncomfortable. I gave him a dollar from my purse and encouraged my daughter to come with me to provide him with the money. Even though she felt uncomfortable, I explained to her that it’s natural to feel that way when doing something new and that kindness can become a habit with practice. Let’s continue practicing acts of kindness until it becomes second nature to us.
Virtual Validation:
It’s lovely to hear stories like yours of kindness and compassion towards others, especially those less fortunate. Despite your daughter’s reluctance, your decision to donate money to the musician raising two children was a selfless and heartwarming gesture.
It can be challenging to step out of our comfort zones and do something new, especially when faced with uncertainty or discomfort. But it’s important to remember that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference in someone’s life.
It’s also important to remember that kindness is a habit somebody can develop with practice. By consciously making an effort to be kind to others, we can create a positive impact on those around us and make the world a better place.
So, let’s continue to practice acts of kindness, no matter how small, and encourage others to do the same. Together, we can make service a norm and spread positivity and compassion in our communities.
